Fastly & RSM join forces to boost cybersecurity in ANZ
Fastly has announced a new partnership with RSM to enhance cybersecurity operations for enterprises in Australia and New Zealand. The collaboration aims to provide businesses with robust solutions and advisory support, addressing the increasingly stringent compliance regulations within their respective industries.
The new alliance will enable RSM to support its clients' digital operations by aligning security strategies and delivering specialised technology. As part of this partnership, RSM will incorporate Fastly's cybersecurity solutions to ensure ongoing adherence to industry standards such as PCI 4.0 and the ASD Essential Eight maturity model.
Ashwin Pal, Director of Security and Privacy at RSM, highlighted the importance of this partnership in light of the growing complexity of cyber threats. "Staying ahead of constantly evolving cyber threats is one of the major challenges facing Australian and New Zealand businesses today," he said. He emphasised the need for businesses to continuously develop and improve their cybersecurity posture to effectively avoid, respond to, and recover from cyber-attacks.
Fastly, a leader in global edge cloud platforms, recently introduced Fastly Bot Management to help organisations combat automated bot attacks, reducing the risk of fraud, DDoS attacks, account takeovers, and other online abuses. This platform scales to meet customer website and application needs, decreases fraud risk, and cuts infrastructure costs. Leveraging its proven bot mitigation expertise, Fastly's Next-Gen WAF effectively detects and blocks malicious traffic without tuning, allowing application security teams to focus on larger issues.
Alan Chan, Head of Channel and Partnership for ANZ at Fastly, noted that the shift to a digital world has made companies more vulnerable to cyber threats. "RSM's advisory skills and experience are a perfect addition to Fastly's ecosystem of partners as together we can offer customers actionable insight and solutions for stronger cyber resilience," he said.
Fastly's 2023 global cybersecurity report revealed significant impacts of cyber attacks in Australia and New Zealand. The report documented an average of 49 known cyber attacks over the past year in these regions, resulting in a nine percent revenue loss. Additional repercussions included network outages, data loss, compromised customer accounts, and a loss of client trust.
Fastly has been recognised as a Customer' Choice in the Gartner Peer Insights 2024 for Cloud Web Applications and API Protection. This distinction marks the company’s sixth consecutive year receiving this recognition, highlighting its commitment to providing reliable cybersecurity solutions.
