CyberGrape partners with MyCISO to enhance security services

Wed, 24th Jul 2024

CyberGrape, a cybersecurity firm, has announced a new partnership with MyCISO, an Australian-based Company. CyberGrape is the first fully New Zealand-owned business to form such an alliance.

CyberGrape has built a reputation for pioneering third-party cyber risk monitoring, making it a key player for Black Kite Cyber Risk Monitoring services in the New Zealand market. The company's approach has garnered significant clientele in both the private and public sectors.

The company's Fractional CISO (vCISO) service, a consulting arm of CyberGrape, was initially challenged by traditional methodologies involving several tools and extensive manual efforts. These methods proved challenging to scale, conflicting with CyberGrape's mission to offer high-quality security services at an affordable price for New Zealand's small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs). Faced with this challenge, the company sought a more streamlined governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) platform to enhance efficiency while maintaining expert service levels for clients.

Following a comprehensive market analysis and testing multiple platforms, CyberGrape identified the MyCISO platform as the ideal solution. MyCISO offers a SaaS-based GRC platform that features three governance modules: Assess, Suppliers, and Culture. The Assess module assists consultants by guiding them through business context understanding, goal setting, control and risk assessments, and eventually, crafting a security strategy—all within an integrated platform. This design ensures both simplicity and efficiency for users, whether they aim to select the best security framework for their business, measure their maturity, or establish their initial strategy.

Niel Chapman, CyberGrape Founder and CISO, said, "We already provide vCISO services to organisations here in New Zealand and around the world, with clients as far away as Japan and even the UK. Our new partnership with MyCISO means we can now deliver consistent and structured engagement to our clients, extending our offering of international security frameworks like ISO27001 and PCI-DSS 4.0 to now include Australian-based standards like ASD8 and SACSF (South Australia Cyber Security Framework)."

The partnership between CyberGrape and MyCISO signifies a strategic move to enhance the efficiency and scalability of CyberGrape's cybersecurity services. By integrating MyCISO's SaaS-based GRC platform, CyberGrape aims to streamline its operations and provide consistent, structured engagements to its clients. This collaboration is expected to bolster CyberGrape's ability to deliver high-quality, affordable security services to small and medium-sized businesses in New Zealand while expanding its reach and capabilities to include various international security frameworks and standards.
