Cohesity & CrowdStrike expand partnership for advanced cybersecurity
Cohesity has announced an expanded strategic partnership with CrowdStrike aimed at strengthening threat detection and accelerating response capabilities. The collaboration integrates Cohesity's data protection solutions with CrowdStrike's threat intelligence feeds, marking a significant enhancement in cybersecurity for backup and recovery solutions.
According to the 2024 Global Threat Report by CrowdStrike, cyber adversaries are increasingly employing tactics such as credential harvesting and vulnerability exploitation to bypass legacy defence systems. The integration between Cohesity Data Cloud and CrowdStrike Falcon Adversary Intelligence aims to counter these sophisticated threats effectively.
Cohesity's data protection combined with CrowdStrike's threat intelligence, which tracks over 250 adversaries and incorporates indicators of compromise (IOCs), provides mutual customers with the ability to identify emerging threats with higher accuracy. This integration offers enhanced visibility into attacks, providing the latest intelligence on new threats while minimising the strategic advantages of attackers. Customers can conduct threat hunting on their backup copies, allowing for incident investigation without empowering adversaries to deploy countermeasures.
The use of Cohesity's clean room design and integrated tools gives customers specific forensic capabilities to analyse malware, investigate breaches, and understand attack vectors without risking the contamination of their IT environments.
"Elevating your organisation's threat detection and response is crucial in today's threat environment, especially with AI at the disposal of cyber adversaries," stated Craig Martell, Chief Technology Officer of Cohesity. "Secondary data estates offer a perfect opportunity for minimising attackers' advantages and, together with CrowdStrike, our customers can enhance their threat hunting and response while also automating defences across their security stack."
Cohesity emphasises bringing together the best from the security industry, enabling customers to choose the right solutions without sacrificing functionality or adding complexity. This approach allows for a more tailored security posture that can adapt to emerging threats and evolving IT environments.
"Our continued partnership with Cohesity and latest joint efforts reflect our shared commitment to cyber resilience," said Daniel Bernard, Chief Business Officer of CrowdStrike. "To stay ahead, enterprises benefit from streamlining threat intelligence and response efforts while also harnessing their vast secondary data to gain security insights. This integration provides the technology and intelligence they need to reduce risk."
