BlueVoyant launches tailored Microsoft Security optimisation service
BlueVoyant has launched a new service aimed at helping enterprises optimise their Microsoft Security solutions and manage cybersecurity costs.
The offering, called Continuous Optimisation for Microsoft Security (COMS), is designed to provide clients with enterprise-level threat detection analytics, ongoing configuration and cost optimisation, and on-demand access to security expertise specific to Microsoft technologies.
BlueVoyant has highlighted that, while the Microsoft Security suite is capable of delivering comprehensive cyber defence when properly set up and continually managed, many organisations encounter difficulties administering these tools at scale.
The COMS service aims to address these challenges by supplying dynamic, threat-informed detection analytics alongside proprietary tooling that measures and improves the health of Microsoft Defender deployments. The service is intended to support security teams using Microsoft Defender XDR, Microsoft Sentinel, and Azure Cloud, offering assistance in both technology management and cost forecasting.
COMS brings together features from BlueVoyant's existing co-managed Security Operations (SecOps) programme and includes new components that can be tailored to the needs of individual clients. It is structured to provide expert technology guidance either as a complement to Managed Detection and Response (MDR) services or as support for in-house security operations teams.
Industry analyst Gartner has commented on the trend toward co-managed security offerings. According to Gartner: "Co-management offers buyers the opportunity to increase their internal security skill sets while still having the support of an experienced service provider. Such an approach increases the speed at which they can achieve greater security maturity and gives them the flexibility to build capabilities and mature internal staff in ways not available via a more 'fully managed' approach."
The Gartner report also noted: "Gartner expects the [co-managed] market to continue to increase in popularity as an adjacent or replacement service requirement to MDR services."
Among the core benefits of the COMS service are technology and cost optimisation, with monthly expert-led analysis to identify and address areas of cybersecurity weakness and to improve cost efficiency for Microsoft Security tools. Custom threat detection analytics are provided by BlueVoyant's threat detection engineering team, tailored to each enterprise.
The offering also includes weekly threat landscape reporting from BlueVoyant's threat intelligence team, delivering actionable intelligence on emerging vulnerabilities and potential enterprise impacts. Each client is assigned a Microsoft Security Architect to act as a Technical Account Manager, providing oversight of the programme and consulting services as needed, with the support of a 120-person deployment services team.
An expert training programme is incorporated into the service, offering live instruction within the client's own technology environment and focusing on advanced use of Microsoft Security technologies to enhance in-house skills.
Commenting on the launch, Marius Mocanu, Senior Vice President of Microsoft Professional Services at BlueVoyant, said: "BlueVoyant can support enterprises no matter the SecOps challenge they are looking to solve. This includes the company's historical strengths in MDR and full co-managed SecOps. Now, with Continuous Optimisation for Microsoft Security, BlueVoyant offers a highly tailored service that ensures enterprises can confidently navigate the complexities of modern security operations with a trusted cybersecurity partner."
Adrian Grigorof, Senior Vice President of Microsoft Professional Services at BlueVoyant, also commented on the enterprise need for technology management. He stated: "Enterprises are now seeing the need for technology management, including access to advanced technology, threat intelligence, and expertise. COMS is designed to solve this challenge, supporting organisations no matter whether they decide to have their own SOC or outsource."
He continued: "Our expertise in Microsoft Security technologies allows us to deliver unparalleled support and optimisation for our clients. This service is a game-changer for enterprises looking to enhance their security posture while managing costs effectively."
