VIPRE earns 'Strategic Leader' status in 2024 AV report

Mon, 21st Oct 2024

VIPRE has been recognised as a 'Strategic Leader' by AV-Comparatives in its 2024 Endpoint Prevention and Response test report.

VIPRE Security Group has earned a top accolade for its endpoint solutions which scored full marks across all phases of attack assessment. The solutions were assessed for their ability to prevent and detect endpoint compromise, internal propagation, and asset breaches, distinguishing themselves as amongst the top performers in the industry. The company was noted for offering the second-lowest total cost of ownership among evaluated solutions.

Peter Stelzhammer, Co-founder of AV-Comparatives, commented, "VIPRE distinguished itself notably in our evaluations, demonstrating formidable system protection capabilities. Furthermore, it achieved a leading position in terms of total cost of ownership, underscoring its exceptional value proposition for enterprises."

The comprehensive EPR test measures the efficacy of Endpoint Protection Products, Endpoint Detection and Response, and Extended Detection and Response solutions in fending off complex, multi-stage attacks. This involves challenging cybersecurity solutions with 50 unique attack scenarios, tapping into a wide range of techniques and vectors.

In addition to the accolade, VIPRE announced enhancements to its Endpoint Detection and Response platform, introducing AI Advisor and Remote Browser Isolation capacities. These new tools are aimed at enriching incident response and remediation processes.

The AI Advisor is driven by generative AI, designed to fast-track incident investigations, enhance context, and expedite the resolution process. Security personnel can utilise natural language queries to gain insights about links, files, and artifacts, as well as request comprehensive sandbox analysis.

Complementing the AI Advisor, the RBI feature allows security professionals to explore suspicious URLs safely without risking system compromise. This function helps in assessing malicious sites and phishing attempts that may not be caught by traditional detection methods, leveraging a secure cloud-based browsing solution.

These enhancements are expected to reduce the ownership costs further and elevate the competitive standing of VIPRE's EDR platform. Usman Choudhary, Chief Product and Technology Officer at VIPRE Security Group, stated, "Our solutions stand out in the market by delivering the highest level of detection capabilities while keeping ownership costs low. This is made possible by the built-in efficiencies in our technology. Our portal is engineered to help cut through the clutter and noise, allowing IT and security teams to quickly review, assess, and respond to incidents. Best of all, customers achieve this level of protection without hiring additional staff or investing in extra professional services."

Choudhary further noted, "With our latest innovations, the aim is to empower security teams to maximise their effectiveness, even with limited internal resources. Our solutions shoulder the burden to help incident responders in enterprises to quickly and effectively respond to the ever-changing threat landscape."

Nate Simmons, President of Cybersecurity and Martech Division at Ziff Davis, remarked on the achievement by saying, "This positioning from AV-Comparatives demonstrates VIPRE's technological proficiency and expertise, enabling the team to deliver high-performance, sophisticated, and cost-effective solutions. To further the platform's value, VIPRE has critically evaluated generative AI to determine how best to integrate the technology into its products in an impactful manner for customers."
