Semperis appoints Sillars to lead Asia Pacific expansion

Thu, 17th Apr 2025

Semperis has appointed Gerry Sillars as Vice President for Asia Pacific and Japan to lead the company's regional expansion efforts.

Sillars, who is based in Singapore, brings over two decades of experience in developing and scaling software businesses in the Asia Pacific and Japan region. His previous roles include Vice President positions at Commvault Systems, Alcatel Lucent, UpGuard, and Fortanix.

Since joining Semperis, Sillars has taken charge of an expansion strategy focused on accelerating growth across the region. In 2024, the company reported triple-digit revenue growth and a significant increase in its business pipeline, supporting its expansion agenda throughout Asia Pacific.

The company has recently finalised distribution agreements spanning several key markets, including Southeast Asian countries, India, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, and Taiwan. These efforts have resulted in an increase in the number of regional partnerships by more than 100 per cent.

Discussing his move to Semperis, Sillars said, "My transition several months ago to leading Semperis' regional expansion in Asia Pacific has come at a pivotal moment. Identity-driven security has emerged as one of the most critical priorities for organisations in this region, so the timing couldn't have been better. Today, the biggest brands in the world rely on Semperis to safeguard their hybrid Active Directory environments, which are being targeted at unprecedented levels. Semperis offers 'best in breed' solutions to fill this gap left by traditional security products."

Semperis recently achieved a milestone of surpassing USD $100 million in Annual Recurring Revenue, a figure reached by fewer than one in every one thousand enterprise software companies. The company attributes this success to its portfolio of solutions designed to combat identity-based attacks, particularly targeting Active Directory and Entra ID environments.
