Rockwell Automation launches SecureOT to boost industrial cybersecurity

Thu, 13th Nov 2025

Rockwell Automation has introduced a new cybersecurity suite tailored for industrial operations, seeking to address growing threats to operational technology (OT) systems. The SecureOT solution suite has been designed to help manufacturers and critical infrastructure operators safeguard their systems while navigating heightened regulatory demands and increased connectivity.

Rising cyber threats

Industrial organisations are experiencing an uptick in cyberattacks aimed at OT environments. Many of these environments rely on ageing infrastructure that was not originally built with security in mind. Standard IT-focused approaches frequently do not meet the needs of these complex and highly regulated settings.

SecureOT encompasses a dedicated platform, professional services, and managed security services. The suite provides a coordinated set of tools and services aiming to reduce risk, support regulatory compliance, and maximise system uptime for operators in various industrial sectors.

Suite capabilities

The SecureOT Platform offers real-time visibility into assets, risk prioritisation, and vulnerability management for mixed-vendor ecosystems. This enables operators to gain detailed insights into the status and exposures of their OT networks. Rockwell Automation's managed security services, meanwhile, deliver round-the-clock monitoring and incident response through specialised OT Security Operations Centre and Network Operations Centre facilities.

Professional services included in the SecureOT offering cover advisory work, risk assessments, and support for implementation. These are aimed at assisting industrial clients to strengthen their overall security practices and policies.

Aligned standards

SecureOT adopts a vendor-neutral approach, compatible with a wide range of industrial control systems and technology stacks. The platform aligns its processes with globally recognised frameworks, including NIST CSF, NIS2 and IEC 62443. This ensures that customers are able to meet regulatory requirements as well as internal security standards.

"Cyber threats to industrial operations are evolving faster than ever, and legacy defences simply can't keep up. SecureOT is more than a brand - it's a strategic shift in how industrial organisations approach cybersecurity. We're combining deep industrial expertise with OT-specific technology and services that help customers stay ahead of threats and keep operations running safely," said Matthew Fordenwalt, Senior Vice President, Lifecycle Services, Rockwell Automation.

Customer outcomes

Rockwell Automation highlighted case studies that demonstrate SecureOT's application across several sectors. One oil and gas producer achieved comprehensive asset visibility and remediated critical security risks across its remote operations in six months. A beverage manufacturer moved its entire industrial network and computing infrastructure to managed services at more than 150 sites globally. An energy company was able to double its NIST CSF maturity scores, providing measurable returns to senior management. Meanwhile, a power utility obtained real-time visibility into remote substations and reached NERC CIP compliance using agentless monitoring techniques.

Industry reception

The launch has drawn attention from security analysts. Hollie Hennessy, OT/IoT Cybersecurity Lead Analyst at Omdia, said: "Industrial organisations need cybersecurity strategies built for the realities of OT. Rockwell Automation's SecureOT addresses that need with a layered approach that integrates asset visibility, vulnerability management, and managed detection services in one framework. It's a significant step forward for industrial cybersecurity maturity."
