Gallagher Security rolls out Command Centre v9.40 upgrades
Gallagher Security has released an updated version of its site management platform, Command Centre v9.40, which introduces a range of new features and performance improvements for customers using the Controller 7000 product range. The latest version is targeted towards environments requiring high density access control and more complex infrastructure.
Higher door capacity
The Controller 7000 range, encompassing Standard, Enhanced, and High Security versions, now supports an optional licensing expansion for up to 24 doors per controller. This more than doubles the previous limit of 10 doors per controller. The change is designed to reduce infrastructure costs and simplify system architecture for larger facilities.
"This enhancement means larger installations can be managed with significant reductions in infrastructure costs and simplified system architecture," said Mark Junge, Chief Executive, Gallagher Security.
Junge added that the Controller 7000 range maintains strong performance and access responsiveness, even when operating at the new 24-door capacity.
Additional device support
Version 9.40 increases the number of supported devices per controller. The number of HBUS readers supported expands from 20 to 40, and the number of OSDP readers rises from 16 to 32. There is also an increase in the number of supported inter-controller communications, which grows from 60 to 100, allowing for larger and more complex controller networks.
"As part of Command Centre v9.40, we have boosted the number of HBUS readers supported, from 20 to 40, and increased OSDP readers from 16 to 32. V9.40 also increases the number of supported inter-controller communications from 60 to 100, allowing for larger and more complex controller networks without compromising performance or manageability," said Junge.
Maintenance features
The update introduces Lock Cycle Counting to support proactive infrastructure maintenance strategies. This feature is aimed at helping organisations manage the lifecycle of door locks more efficiently and reduce unexpected failures and costly repairs.
"We know that when locks fail, they do it at the most inconvenient time - at the end of the day or after hours. This results in costly callouts and expensive repairs. Proactively managing the life of a lock prevents these occurrences from happening, and ensures upgrades are proactive," said Jim Rayner, Senior Product Manager, Gallagher Security.
Sign on integration
The v9.40 release incorporates integration with Microsoft Entra ID, making single sign on available for Command Centre users. By leveraging OpenID Connect, organisations can align access control with a cloud-first identity strategy and reduce reliance on older Active Directory infrastructure. This enables central management of access, use of multi-factor authentication, and application of conditional access policies via Microsoft Entra.
"This integration allows customers to align with their organization's cloud-first identity strategy, reduce reliance on legacy AD infrastructure, and benefit from centralized access control, multi-factor authentication, and conditional access policies - all managed through Microsoft Entra. It simplifies user management, enhances security, and supports smoother migration to modern identity platforms," said Junge.
