Cohesity adds managed clean room to HCLTech VaultNXT

Cohesity has added a managed clean room service to HCLTech's VaultNXT offering, expanding the partners' cyber recovery work for organisations responding to attacks.

The new service combines Cohesity Clean Room and its AI-based data security tools with VaultNXT, HCLTech's consulting-led cyber resilience framework. It is intended to give customers a secure, isolated environment to investigate incidents, validate recovery data and restore business systems after a cyberattack.

Both groups are targeting a cyber security market that has moved beyond simple backup and restore. Companies facing ransomware and other disruptive attacks are under pressure not only to recover data, but also to prove restored systems are clean, document the recovery process and meet regulatory expectations.

VaultNXT is positioned as a managed service with policy-based cyber vaulting, immutable recovery copies and controlled access. Adding the clean room service allows customers to carry out forensic investigation, containment, validation and recovery in a segregated environment rather than on production infrastructure.

The service also uses automated workflows and security controls intended to make recovery faster and easier to govern. The process is designed to be audit-ready and to support regulatory frameworks including DORA and NIS2, which have increased the focus on operational resilience and cyber incident response.

Recovery focus

The announcement reflects a wider shift in the data protection market, where vendors and service providers are trying to link backup, cyber recovery and compliance more closely. That trend has been driven by higher attack volumes, growing regulatory scrutiny and the cost of prolonged outages after a breach.

For HCLTech, the addition strengthens an offering aimed at enterprises seeking external support to assess, build and operate ransomware recovery arrangements. For Cohesity, it extends the role of its clean room technology from a product feature to part of a managed service delivered through a partner.

Partnership push

The update also highlights the continuing partnership between the two companies in cyber resilience and hybrid cloud services. HCLTech has been building out service-led security offerings for large organisations, while Cohesity has been seeking to deepen its reach through channel and service partners.

ANZ demand

The companies pointed in particular to demand from organisations that need a formal and repeatable recovery model. In regulated sectors, incident response now often requires not just technical restoration, but evidence that the process was controlled and that recovered data can be trusted.
