Wed, 2nd Feb 2022
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Fortinet has announced the recipients of its Australian partner awards.

The awards acknowledge the achievements of partners who have securely facilitated the fast-tracking of their customers to move beyond traditional networks.

Fortinet channel director Tim Fitzgerald says the company is pleased to share this year's winners.

“The awards recognise the valuable contributions of the entire partner ecosystem throughout 2021 and the partners' dedication and hard work to help customers adapt to the changing workplace, business environment, and threat landscape of the future.

The award winners are:

Australian Partner of the Year: Orro Group

Australian Emerging Partner of the Year: Wireless Communications

Australian Fabric Partner of the Year: Secure Agility

Australian Growth Partner of the Year: Blue Apache

Australian Secure SD-WAN Partner of the Year: Datacom

Australian Managed Security Services Provider (MSSP)/Service Provider of the Year: Brennan IT

Australian Telco Partner of the Year: Macquarie Government

Australian Cloud Partner of the Year: DXC Connect

Australian Operational Technology Partner of the Year: Kinetic IT

Fitzgerald adds that Fortinet has prioritised training and certifications by examining where there are still gaps in skills and finding innovative ways to address this. In addition, the company is committed to its continued investment in its partners and assisting them in providing value-driven approaches for customers with extensive proficiency.

“After seeing record growth in 2021, Fortinet is in a strong position to continue this growth in the coming year with new products, a strong team, and strong partner relationships,” Fitzgerald adds.

The American cybersecurity company has been helping businesses to engage with the digital world for over 20 years, working with multinationals, service providers, and government organisations to ensure that people, devices and data are protected at all times.

In January, Fortinet partnered with Telecom Niue to increase network security in the region and communication among residents.

The Niue-based branch was trying to find modern solutions that would accommodate the needs of the government and public services, schools, hospital and airport without relying on multiple cybersecurity companies.

Fortinet has since been instrumental in providing networking devices, firewalls and professional services. Six months on, the company has not experienced any issues.

Telecom Niue CIO Roy Pavihi believes that the company's partnership with Fortinet will assist the island's long term communication strategy, and it fulfils Telecom Niue's desire for centralised security.

“For a long time, Telecom Niue was looking for a way to control the networking and security from a central location and now we have that with the Fortinet Security Fabric,” he says.

“It's extremely convenient to have everything standardised on Fortinet solutions.

Fortinet regional director Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands Jon McGettigan is pleased the company can make a positive difference for the people of Niue.

“Fortinet is proud to work with Telecom Niue to protect the island and its people from ever-present threat of security breaches. Delivering fast connectivity is essential to keeping Nieuans in contact with each other and the rest of the world,” he says.
