Thu, 25th Jul 2024

In a strategic development within the cybersecurity sector, Exabeam and LogRhythm have successfully completed their previously announced merger. This move aims to create a unified global leader in AI-driven security operations.

The newly formed company will continue under the Exabeam name and will undergo a brand refresh to combine the strengths of both organisations while honouring the legacy of the long-established LogRhythm brand. The merger endeavours to integrate the best elements from both firms to establish a top-tier cybersecurity vendor dedicated to empowering security analysts, engineers, and CISOs with the essential tools and intelligence needed to protect their organisations from cyber threats.

Exabeam has revealed its product roadmap and strategy, which will be based on its proven cloud-native AI-driven Exabeam Security Operations Platform. LogRhythm's on-premises SIEM customers will gain the advantage of advanced analytics through the Exabeam platform, aimed at defending against sophisticated and credential-based attacks. The combined company remains committed to quarterly updates for its SIEM offerings, integrating AI-driven automation with reliable data to streamline security operations and accelerate threat detection, investigation, and response (TDIR).

Christopher OMalley, Chief Executive Officer of Exabeam, expressed the ambition of the merger: "By merging cutting-edge, AI-driven technology from Exabeam with the unmatched data integrity of LogRhythm, we are setting a new, unparalleled standard for security operations. Together, our combined expertise, innovation velocity, and vision will propel AI-driven cybersecurity solutions to new heights."

Steve Wilson, Chief Product Officer of Exabeam, elaborated on the strategic benefits of the merger: "By augmenting LogRhythm SIEM with Exabeam's New-Scale AI-driven features, including UEBA and Exabeam Copilot, we will offer incredible new value to existing LogRhythm customers. New and existing Exabeam customers alike can look forward to continued innovation as we optimise our product, training, and service synergies."

Chip Virnig, Partner at Thoma Bravo, a stakeholder in the merger, commented on the future prospects: "We see tremendous opportunity within TDIR, SIEM, and UEBA and believe that together LogRhythm and Exabeam are better positioned to capture this growing market by offering their customers the comprehensive solutions they need to help protect their organizations from ever-evolving cyberthreats. We look forward to Exabeam's continued growth and innovation."

The new leadership team will consist of experienced executives from both companies: Christopher OMalley as Chief Executive Officer, Steve Wilson as Chief Product Officer, Kevin Kirkwood as Chief Information Security Officer, Allwyn Olly Lobo as Chief Development Officer (Cloud-native SIEM), David Rizzo as Chief Development Officer (Self-managed SIEM), Barry Capoot as Chief Financial Officer, Joanne Wong as Chief Marketing Officer, Matt Sarafian as Chief People Officer, Chris Cesio as Chief Revenue Officer, and Peter Harteveld as Chief Value Creation Officer.

The merger has been well-received by industry analysts and longstanding customers. Colin Anderson, CISO at Dayforce, stated, "Exabeam's cutting-edge technology and customer focus have fuelled the strong, collaborative relationship I have had with Exabeam over the last ten years. I am excited for Exabeam's announced merger and look for this partnership to accelerate the innovative product roadmap and build on best-in-class service capabilities."

Jamie Schademan, Director of Cyber Platform Security at BECU, remarked, "We are incredibly pleased with the value we've seen from Exabeam solutions in securing our data and gaining the necessary visibility needed to protect our organization. Exabeam has been a true and trusted partner for BECU. Congratulations to everyone involved in the merger and this next phase of growth for the company."

Chris Steffen, Research Vice President for Information Security at Enterprise Management Associates, commented, "The merger of Exabeam and LogRhythm will undeniably improve the security operations landscape. With their combined strengths and product leadership, the new organisation is well equipped to tackle the challenges of modern security operations, offering a robust defence against sophisticated threats."

Following this merger, the combined entity aims to establish a comprehensive, AI-driven security operations platform that addresses the evolving threats in the cybersecurity landscape, leveraging innovative technology and high-integrity data from both Exabeam and LogRhythm.
