AvePoint expands cloud data protection & AI oversight tools

Thu, 16th Oct 2025

AvePoint has announced new multi-SaaS data protection solutions and expanded support for agentic AI across its Confidence Platform, introducing tools aimed at enhancing security, compliance, and operational efficiency for organisations managing data across cloud services.

The AvePoint Confidence Platform now delivers automated backup and data protection for popular business applications such as Monday.com, DocuSign, Smartsheet, Okta, and Confluence. In addition, data protection has been extended to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Virtual Machines, broadening coverage for customers operating in multi-cloud environments.

This expansion comes as organisations continue to increase their reliance on cloud technologies, often deploying an average of 275 different SaaS applications and operating in complex multi-cloud infrastructure. Such environments present challenges related to data fragmentation, making centralised management and governance more critical.

Expanded data protection

John Peluso, Chief Technology Officer at AvePoint, highlighted the motivation behind these updates, stating:

"The AvePoint Confidence Platform is built to go beyond traditional, disconnected backup solutions, extending seamlessly across complex multi-cloud environments to power next-gen information lifecycle management, security and visibility under one control framework. Expanding AvePoint's SaaS data protection capabilities across these prominent platforms is a natural next step for the Confidence Platform's evolution.
"These are all critical technologies for businesses worldwide, and each of these platforms has its own unique data security and backup considerations. With this update, customers can now centrally manage these applications and associated risks through the Confidence Platform."

The newly supported applications and infrastructure enable organisations to automate data recovery and backup, addressing varied security and regulatory requirements across different technologies. By extending these capabilities, customers can now manage business continuity and compliance risks from a unified control centre.

Agentic AI oversight

The Confidence Platform now also includes deeper oversight for Copilot Studio Agents, helping organisations monitor the deployment and compliance status of agentic AI within their systems. This functionality gives organisations greater control over the permissions and data access of AI agents, as the growing use of artificial intelligence within enterprise settings raises new governance challenges.

John Hodges, Chief Product Officer at AvePoint, commented on the need for these features:

"Agentic AI is helping organizations streamline workflows and realize productivity gains, but agents often have access to sensitive business data across multiple SaaS platforms, which makes lifecycle and security management a critical priority. Without transparency into how agents are deployed, companies run the risk of data breach and compliance gaps. Within the Confidence Platform, we're providing the deep visibility and insights that teams need to govern agent activity and enforce security policies, to mitigate this growing risk."

The platform now offers tools to streamline agent management and generate data insights, equipping teams with the ability to implement proper security controls and ensure agents comply with internal policies and external regulations.

Operational Efficiency Command Centre

The launch of the new Operational Efficiency Command Centre marks the addition of the fifth such facility within the Confidence Platform. The Command Centre is designed to help teams centralise the management of governance practices, measuring the impact on overall data security, compliance, and operations.

The solution delivers metrics on process and lifecycle trends, including policy violation rates, speed of remediation, workspace lifecycle statuses, and volumes of service requests. By presenting this fragmented compliance data in a consolidated and actionable way, the Command Centre aims to reduce manual intervention and accelerate enforcement, allowing organisations to identify return on investment in their governance and security efforts.

The newly launched features represent a move by AvePoint to support customers in simplifying the management of data protection, AI oversight, and operational performance across cloud platforms. Organisations now have additional tools to address governance and security risks that arise amid increased adoption of SaaS and multi-cloud environments.
