Zyxel firewall wins PC Pro Security Hardware award

Tue, 13th Jan 2026

Zyxel Networks said its USG FLEX 50HP firewall has won Security Hardware of the Year at the 2025 PC Pro Excellence Awards.

The company said the award recognised the product's approach to managing security in hybrid environments that mix cloud services and on-premises infrastructure. Zyxel Networks said the firewall uses its Nebula platform as a management layer.

PC Pro runs the Excellence Awards programme in the UK. Zyxel Networks described the awards as being based on expert review and focused on products assessed for performance and value in real-world use.

Hybrid Management

Zyxel Networks positioned the USG FLEX 50HP at small and medium-sized businesses and managed service providers. The company said these customers often face inconsistent settings and duplicated work when they operate both cloud and on-premises environments.

The company said the USG FLEX 50HP differs from firewalls that manage cloud and on-premises configurations separately. Zyxel Networks said the product uses Nebula alongside a feature called Smart Sync. The company said Smart Sync synchronises security policies, network objects and high availability settings across cloud and on-premises environments.

Zyxel Networks said the approach keeps policy and configuration consistent across sites. The company said centralised administration reduces the day-to-day workload of managing security across multiple locations and deployment models.

The company also described the USG FLEX 50HP as part of a broader security portfolio. It said the award adds to recent recognition in other markets and test programmes.

Other Assessments

Zyxel Networks said it was rated "Champion" in the Network Firewall and VPN categories in Germany's Techconsult PUR 2026 survey. The company also pointed to independent testing in the United States by The Tolly Group, which it said assessed performance of the USG FLEX H series.

Vendors in the firewall market increasingly highlight unified management across distributed networks, as organisations spread workloads across public cloud services, branch locations and remote users. Managed service providers also often standardise on tools that reduce the number of consoles required for monitoring and configuration.

"Being named Security Hardware of the Year by PC Pro validates our focus on making security practical for SMBs and MSPs," said Mr. Gary Chen, ANZ Regional Head, Zyxel Networks. "This recognition reflects our commitment to providing robust, reliable solutions that are easy to manage in an increasingly complex threat landscape."

Zyxel Networks said it expects continued demand for products that keep security policies aligned across hybrid environments, as smaller organisations adopt more cloud services while retaining on-premises networks.
