Zscaler partners with NVIDIA to boost AI cybersecurity capabilities

Thu, 13th Jun 2024

Zscaler has announced a collaboration with NVIDIA aimed at accelerating AI-powered copilot technologies for enhanced enterprise security and user experience. This partnership will enable Zscaler to leverage NVIDIA AI technologies, significantly increasing its capacity to process over 400 billion transactions daily from its Zero Trust Exchange platform.

The collaboration introduces new AI capabilities, including NVIDIA NeMo Guardrails and the NVIDIA Morpheus framework. These technologies are intended to enhance Zscaler’s ability to proactively defend enterprises against cyber threats while simplifying IT and network operations.

As AI advancements rapidly reshape the cybersecurity landscape, enterprises are increasingly required to harness their massive volumes of data to maintain a proactive security posture and manage IT operations effectively. The Zscaler ZDX Copilot, in collaboration with NVIDIA NeMo Guardrails, offers insights into network, device, and application performance. This assists in simplifying IT support and operations on a larger scale. NeMo Guardrails, through its dialog management capabilities, ensures appropriateness, accuracy, and security, thereby safeguarding organisations using generative AI systems.

The Zscaler Zero Trust Exchange platform, noted as the world’s largest security cloud, already processes more than 400 billion transactions each day. With state-of-the-art predictive and generative AI, Zscaler is positioned to rapidly identify and act on threats and anomalies that previously proved challenging to detect.

Two primary solutions will leverage NVIDIA's technologies:

  • Zscaler ZDX Copilot with NVIDIA Morpheus: This GPU-accelerated, end-to-end AI framework enables developers to create optimised applications for filtering, processing, and classifying large volumes of streaming cybersecurity data. This enhancement aims to enable real-time threat detection by optimising AI pipelines with substantial volumes of data.
  • Zscaler ZDX Copilot with NVIDIA NIM: NVIDIA NIM consists of microservices designed to expedite the deployment of generative AI models. It can support a wide range of large language models, providing scalable and efficient AI inferencing tailored to security and data protection use cases. This technology allows Zscaler to incorporate advanced generative AI models and multi-modal capabilities into its data protection suite using local large language models.

“The advancement of a cybersecurity vendor's AI is becoming the critical ingredient in maintaining an advantage over adversaries,” stated Punit Minocha, EVP of Business and Corporate Development at Zscaler. “Zscaler is committed to safeguarding AI with AI, and this collaboration with NVIDIA further builds on our leading position in the cybersecurity market.”

Pat Lee, vice president of strategic partnerships at NVIDIA, commented, “Generative AI and accelerated computing continue to transform every industry and enterprise, requiring support across cybersecurity and IT operations. With the integration of NVIDIA’s AI software portfolio, Zscaler’s ZDX Copilot can now provide developers with the security and protection needed to detect cyber anomalies and accelerate IT safety.”
