Cloud security leader Zscaler has made significant enhancements to its Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) leadership team as it continues to prioritise growth and innovation across the region. These latest appointments, which include industry veteran Andreas Hartl as Senior Vice President, aim to assure customers of seamless zero trust journeys.

Andreas Hartl's remit as Senior VP for APJ at Zscaler includes overseeing personnel growth, business strategy, and regional investment. The move comes as Zscaler strives to help its clients remain secure while adopting emerging technologies such as Generative AI.

A recent survey has revealed that 62% of APJ enterprises see these AI tools as a potential threat rather than an opportunity. Despite this, around 97% of these organisations continue to utilise these technologies. Given the delicate balance between the cyber risks and the benefits of such technologies, Zscaler's focus on zero trust architecture becomes even more crucial.

Before joining Zscaler, Hartl held key positions at Aveva, IBM and Microsoft. His duties included building and managing high-performance teams across various regions, a role in which he achieved notable growth in revenue and market penetration.

Hartl, renowned in the industry for his strategic vision, exceptional leadership skills, and ability to build robust relationships with clients and partners, has nearly 30 years of experience in the IT sector. Versed in generating growth and enabling digital transformation, he is well-positioned to fulfil Zscaler's objectives.
