Yubico expands YubiKey services to 175 countries globally

Today

Yubico has expanded the global availability of its YubiKey as a Service subscription and YubiEnterprise Delivery models to 175 countries and 24 territories.

The expansion now includes all countries in the European Union, in addition to existing markets such as the United States, Canada, Japan, Singapore, Australia, India and the United Kingdom.

Yubico's YubiEnterprise Delivery service will now cover 117 new locations, more than doubling the firm's previous international delivery footprint. In total, these services are accessible in 199 global locations for both office-based and remote users.

Jeff Wallace, Senior Vice President of Product at Yubico, commented on evolving cybersecurity threats facing businesses and the role of the expanded service: "Enterprises today are facing evolving cyber threats like Artificial Intelligence (AI)-driven phishing attacks. By expanding our global reach of YubiKey as a Service and YubiEnterprise Delivery to 175 countries, we're accelerating our ability to deliver and deploy device-bound passkey solutions that address the biggest threat facing businesses today from stolen login credentials. This expansion enables us to meet growing demand and accelerates adoption, enabling faster, more affordable delivery of pre-configured YubiKeys to markets like the EU and APJ, where regulatory pressures for phishing-resistant authentication are intensifying."

The broader rollout of YubiKey as a Service aims to make it easier for organisations throughout the EU to deploy phishing-resistant, passwordless security measures. This subscription service is designed to give enterprises increased flexibility and to simplify both the acquisition and deployment of multi-factor authentication, delivering what is described as impactful cost savings.

Central to this service is the Yubico Enrollment Suite, which is available exclusively through YubiKey as a Service.

The suite enables enterprises to accelerate adoption of passwordless authentication and streamline user onboarding via the delivery of pre-configured keys. The offering includes Yubico FIDO Pre-reg for factory-programmed, pre-registered keys, as well as YubiEnroll client for in-person onboarding through Okta and Microsoft Entra ID. Yubico has announced plans to expand compatibility with additional identity providers in the future.

The company states that these measures are intended to align security measures with operational efficiency, supporting organisations as they seek to future-proof their workforces against a range of phishing threats.

Yubico's YubiEnterprise Delivery is now a key part of YubiKey as a Service. The company claims that it provides IT teams with capabilities to manage the distribution of hardware security keys to users worldwide, aiming to facilitate the broader adoption of strong authentication methodologies. The delivery expansion includes both office and remote users in the supported regions.

As part of these services, organisations gain increased visibility into their inventory of YubiKeys and usage patterns, which can help identify potential security gaps.

Yubico indicates that YubiEnterprise Delivery is positioned to make it easier for enterprises to shift towards phishing-resistant and passwordless multi-factor authentication.

Yubico's original flagship product, the YubiKey, is designed for authentication requirements that demand resistance to account takeovers and wide compatibility across enterprise and consumer applications. The expanded as-a-service and delivery offerings are being introduced amid what the company identifies as increased regulatory demands and a higher risk of AI-driven cybersecurity attacks.

The company continues to highlight the value of hardware-based security keys as organisations consider strategies to reduce risk related to compromised or stolen login credentials.

According to Yubico, these product and service expansions are intended to meet enterprise demand for scalable, cost-effective authentication options worldwide.
