Tenable unveils autonomous solution for patch management

Yesterday

Tenable has announced the introduction of Tenable Patch Management, a new autonomous solution aimed at swiftly addressing security vulnerabilities.

Vulnerability remediation remains a significant challenge for organisations due to the cumbersome nature of identifying, testing, and installing numerous daily patches. A recent report by Tenable highlights that only 11% of organisations are efficient at vulnerability remediation. With the average time for attackers to exploit vulnerabilities now reduced from 32 days to just five, the need for effective remediation is more pressing.

The Tenable Patch Management solution, developed in partnership with Adaptiva, aims to tackle these challenges. It integrates autonomous patch management functionality with Tenable's extensive vulnerability coverage, prioritisation, and threat intelligence, allowing organisations to close vulnerability exposure more rapidly. This integration enables automated correlation of identified vulnerabilities with available patches, facilitating quicker and more effective remediation.

The solution gives teams the full control needed to manage patch deployment, allowing organisations to patch with confidence. It includes customisable controls and automatic patch testing, which helps ensure problematic updates are blocked from deployment.

Chief Product Officer at Tenable, Shai Morag, stated, "Tenable's approach to patch management keeps security teams in the driver's seat. Organisations can accurately remediate exposures, streamlining the time from discovery to remediation all while in full control. The combined power of Tenable's market-leading identification and prioritisation and Adaptiva's innovative autonomous patch functionality enables enterprises of all sizes to close the gap between security and IT and free up team resources to focus on the threats that matter most to their business."

Available as an addition to existing Tenable products like Tenable One, Tenable Vulnerability Management, Tenable Security Center, and Tenable Enclave Security, this solution offers several features. These include automated correlation between vulnerabilities and patches, automated patching with enhanced control and approval settings, automatic validation to ensure successful remediation, and compliance monitoring to align with policy requirements while providing leaders with accessible metrics.

Tenable is the exposure management company, focused on exposing and closing the cybersecurity gaps that erode business value, reputation and trust. The company's AI-powered exposure management platform radically unifies security visibility, insight and action across the attack surface, equipping modern organisations to protect against attacks from IT infrastructure to cloud environments to critical infrastructure and everywhere in between. By protecting enterprises from security exposure, Tenable aims to reduce business risk for approximately 44,000 customers around the globe.
