Synechron unifies three Australian consultancies under one
Synechron has unified three acquired Australian consultancies under its brand, bringing Chamonix IT, Exposé and iGreenData into a single national business with a new local leadership team.
The New York-headquartered technology consulting group now has more than 1,500 staff across Australia and New Zealand, with offices in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane and Canberra. It plans to recruit more than 100 specialists in the first half of 2026.
Synechron first announced the acquisitions in 2024, describing the consolidation as part of a broader push to expand in the Australian technology consulting market.
Over the past 12 years, the combined team has delivered more than 3,200 projects in Australia. It works with government and enterprise clients, including major financial institutions, and also across defence, education and healthcare.
Local leadership
Synechron has appointed Scott Grigg as Country Managing Director for Australia. It also confirmed Max Sundaram as Managing Director, Banking, Financial Services and Insurance; Kelly Drewett as Managing Director, Enterprise; Tim Coates as Head of Practises, Australia; and Etienne Oosthuysen as Chief Technology Officer, Australia.
The appointments formalise the operating structure for the unified business, which will focus on end-to-end digital transformation and platform work. The Australian unit will specialise in secure programmes for organisations in financial services, government, defence, utilities, education and healthcare.
Synechron describes Australia as a competitive market where customers demand both local delivery and access to modern technology. Faisal Husain, Co-Founder and Chief Executive, said the expanded local base strengthened its offering in the region.
"Australia is one of the most dynamic and competitive consulting markets in the world. Clients expect both world-leading technology innovation and in-depth local experience," said Faisal Husain, Co-Founder and CEO, Synechron. "Thanks to the addition of the Chamonix IT, Exposé, and iGreenData teams, we are now perfectly placed to help Australian organisations not just embrace the future, but to lead from the front."
Vendor alliances
The Australian operation is part of a wider organisation employing more than 16,850 people across 21 countries. Synechron has strategic alliances with technology vendors including Appian, AWS, Databricks, Microsoft, Salesforce and ServiceNow.
Synechron also pointed to earlier acquisitions outside Australia that expanded its ServiceNow work in banking and financial services. In October 2025, it acquired RapDev, Calitii and Waivgen, deals it said made it one of the largest global ServiceNow practices in that sector.
The consolidation follows a broader pattern across the services industry, where larger groups have sought scale through acquisition and brand integration. Combining previously independent firms can simplify sales and delivery structures, but can also change how specialised teams present themselves to customers-particularly in regulated sectors where procurement and security requirements influence supplier selection.
Grigg said Synechron had already seen growth while integrating the businesses. He also highlighted the mix of local experience and technology developed within the broader group.
"Globally, Synechron is synonymous with innovation, transformation and complex project delivery, with a rich heritage in highly regulated industries such as financial services," said Scott Grigg, Country Managing Director, Australia, Synechron. "Pairing our on-the-ground experience and expertise with Synechron's proprietary technology and accelerators drove significant growth, even as we worked to bring the business to operate as one organisation. As we move forward as one Synechron in the Australian market, we expect this growth to accelerate."
The unified business will continue to serve clients across Australia and New Zealand, while expanding headcount in the first half of 2026.
