Object First sees an 822% surge in Q1 2024 bookings

Fri, 21st Jun 2024

Object First, the provider of Ootbi (Out-of-the-Box-Immutability), ransomware-proof backup storage appliance for Veeam, has reported a significant surge in bookings for the first quarter of 2024.

The company attributes this increase to the growth in new customers and partnerships across North America and EMEA.

In a comparison between the first quarters of 2023 and 2024, Object First disclosed an 822% growth in worldwide bookings, with a 560% rise in North America.

David Bennett, CEO of Object First, commented on these figures. "Building on a strong 2023, Object First accelerated our bookings growth in Q1 2024, anticipating the need for ransomware-proof immutable backup storage that is secure, simple and powerful," he said. "The strong growth in our partner and customer base, especially among those leveraging our larger capacity appliances, reflects the need to secure growing volumes of backup data and ensure rapid and complete recovery when disasters occur."

The company also reported a 714% increase in the deployment of its Ootbi solutions, with 57 deployments recorded in the first quarter of 2024. Of these deployments, three were valued at over six figures—a 200% increase from the same period the previous year. There was also a notable rise in the demand for the larger capacity 128TB units, which grew by 1,050% year-over-year in the first quarter. Additionally, Object First observed a 700% increase in deals involving two or more Ootbi appliances.

In response to the growing demand, Object First recently launched a 192TB appliance, unveiled at the VeeamON conference. This new addition to the Ootbi portfolio, which already includes 64TB and 128TB units, enables up to 768TB of usable immutable backup storage per cluster. The 192TB appliance integrates seamlessly with Veeam's 12.1.2 release, allowing backup storage capacities to exceed 3 petabytes as part of a Veeam backup repository.

Further contributing to Object First’s positive figures was the growth in the company's partner and customer base. Worldwide, customer numbers increased by 300% over Q1 2024 compared to the same period last year, and partners grew by 637%. This expansion includes notable resellers like Insight and Sentinel Technologies, Veeam Cloud Service Providers such as IT2Grow and Viyu Network Solutions (also a customer), and companies like Centerbase adopting the Ootbi appliance. Zach Young, Director of IT at Centerbase, attested to the ease of use of Ootbi, stating, "Most importantly, our Ootbi just works. Set it and forget it. I can't wait to budget for another one!"

Growth in EMEA was a strategic focus for Object First, with a 400% increase in customer numbers in Q1 2024 compared to the same quarter in the previous year. The company also established partnerships with several distributors throughout Europe, including Copaco in the BeNeLux region, Pedab in Scandinavia, and V-Valley in Spain.

The company’s achievements have not gone unnoticed in the industry. CRN included Object First in its annual Partner Program Guide for 2024, acknowledging the value provided to partners and customers worldwide.
