HERE Technologies has partnered with Octave to add location intelligence to Octave OnCall Dispatch in Australia, targeting incident response operations nationwide.

The agreement brings HERE's mapping and location data into Octave's computer-aided dispatch system, which manages incidents and coordinates service vehicles. The integration includes search, geocoding, routing and mapping tools designed to support dispatch decisions with current traffic and road network information.

For dispatch operators, mapping software is the main interface for locating incidents, identifying nearby vehicles and assigning assistance. More frequent updates to road networks, addresses and points of interest should reduce the need for manual map maintenance and provide more current location information.

Dispatch focus

Octave OnCall Dispatch is positioned as a next-generation computer-aided dispatch platform for organisations handling incident response. With HERE's data, the platform is expected to improve estimated arrival time accuracy and help dispatchers respond to changing traffic conditions in real time.

The partnership reflects broader demand from transport and roadside service providers for systems that can process location data quickly and reliably. Faster access to accurate map data can directly affect how quickly operators identify an incident site and send the nearest available vehicle.

Daniel Antonello, General Manager for Oceania at HERE Technologies, said speed of response is central to the deal.

"For any type of incident response, every second counts," said Daniel Antonello, General Manager for Oceania at HERE Technologies. "By bringing our real-time, highly accurate location intelligence into OnCall Dispatch, we are transforming how incidents are identified and responded to. This helps reduce response times, improve driver safety and enable more efficient operations at scale."

Australian market

The companies are targeting Australian organisations that rely on dispatch systems to manage roadside assistance and related operational tasks. In these settings, dispatch platforms are used not only to assign work but also to track vehicle positions and adjust routes when incidents, congestion or road changes disrupt planned movements.

HERE, which focuses on digital mapping and location data, supplies map technology for automotive, transport and logistics applications. Octave develops software for infrastructure and other operationally sensitive environments, and its OnCall product is designed for incident response teams that need to coordinate activity across dispersed networks.

Chris Leaver, Executive Director of Australia and New Zealand at Octave, said the integration would give customers more precise mapping and routing data.

"We're excited to partner with HERE to offer even more to our OnCall customers," said Chris Leaver, Executive Director of Australia and New Zealand at Octave. "Access to continuously updated, high-quality mapping and routing data provides organizations with increased operational visibility and precision. This translates into faster decisions, more accurate ETAs and, ultimately, a better experience for dispatchers."

Octave employs about 7,200 people across 45 countries, while HERE has operated in digital mapping for more than four decades. The deal adds to a broader push by software and data suppliers to improve real-time decision-making in sectors where response times can affect service delivery and road user safety.
