Genetec unveils continuous delivery model on their Security Center platform
Thu, 7th Dec 2023

Genetec, a global specialist in unified security, public safety, operations, and business intelligence solutions, announced a new version of its flagship platform, Security Center.

In a decisive transition toward a continuous delivery approach, the revision signifies a new era in how customers all over the world, including Australia and New Zealand, can consistently keep up-to-date with the platform's state-of-the-art features and updates.

"The fast-changing security landscape is driving a requirement for rapid innovation. By adopting a continuous delivery model, we are able to deliver new features and security updates more consistently with less disruption to customers, while maintaining the ambitious scale of our innovation strategy," says Christian Morin, Vice President of Product Engineering and Chief Security Officer at Genetec Inc.

The latest upgrade of Security Center introduces an array of new provisions. Enriched map browsing is one of these key enhancements. The platform now has a new map widget for dashboards and refined zoom behaviour, which considerably improves the operator's experience particularly in extensive city-wide or multi-site deployments.

Operators can establish mini-monitoring assignments in their dashboards, making it easier to search for and view specific entities. Importantly, the enhanced zoom function will only display crucial information at different zoom levels, avoiding unnecessary clutter. As a result, operators can focus on the most pressing aspects of their monitoring assignment.

In addition to this, Security Center has introduced new configuration enhancements for authentication services. These include a configuration wizard that guides users through the set-up process, a troubleshooting window to aid in detecting and diagnosing issues, and a testing window to ensure the system is operating correctly before being deployed into production.

These updates are designed to simplify a complex system configuration and lower uncertainties in the process, allowing integrators to get the system operational more swiftly.

Embracing its continuous delivery model, the updated version of Security Center paves the way for exciting new platform features set to significantly streamline system configuration, management, and auditing.

This holds potential benefits for customers in Australia and New Zealand seeking to ease the burden of day-to-day activities just as much as for those in charge of large, complicated facilities. Expected to be introduced throughout 2024, these new features will facilitate advanced workflow activities, allowing operators to focus on tasks that demand their attention.
