Gallagher Security doubles goal, raising $7,000 for cancer research

Thu, 13th Nov 2025

Gallagher Security has announced the results of its Security Meets Solidarity initiative, raising over $7,000 for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF), more than twice the company's original fundraising target.

Fundraising success

The company had initially aimed to raise $3,000 through the campaign. Melissa Vidakovic, Director of Marketing - the Americas, said the company's team quickly met its target, with support from event attendees propelling the total far beyond expectations.

"We went into GSX hoping to raise $3,000, and our team was thrilled to reach that goal on day one. We all hoped to surpass our goal, but we were blown away by the incredible response from attendees and are grateful for the support. Every donation makes a difference. Our industry is built on protecting people, and at GSX we saw that extend to something deeply personal," said Melissa Vidakovic, Director of Marketing - the Americas, Gallagher Security

Personal connections

Miriam Shaw, Head of Communications and Public Relations, highlighted the emotional impact of the fundraiser. She noted that the team engaged in numerous conversations with participants who shared personal stories about how breast cancer had touched their lives.

"The support we received from GSX attendees was overwhelming. Our team had many moving conversations with people whose families, friends, and colleagues have been impacted by this disease. We were deeply grateful for the connections made and opportunity to raise critical funds for life-saving research, and to deliver a message of unity and compassion that goes far beyond security," said Shaw.

Beneficiary's response

The Breast Cancer Research Foundation was the beneficiary of the Gallagher Security initiative. The foundation's Managing Director recognised both the donation and the wider effort to spotlight breast cancer research among the security industry community.

"We're deeply grateful to Gallagher Security and the GSX community for their generosity and commitment to advancing breast cancer research. Every dollar raised helps fuel BCRF's mission to end breast cancer by funding the most promising research around the world," said Sadia Zapp, Managing Director at the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Community engagement

Gallagher Security anchored the initiative with special fundraising t-shirts, with all proceeds going to BCRF. Attendees responded positively to the effort, helping significantly surpass the initial financial goal. The campaign further encouraged collaboration within the security industry through a collective focus on a health cause.

"Security Meets Solidarity shows what happens when purpose and people come together. Seeing our peers rally behind such an important cause reinforced that protecting what matters most goes far beyond the technology we create - it's about the impact we make together," said Vidakovic.
