FC Barcelona has selected Fortinet as the official cybersecurity partner for its future Spotify Camp Nou, in a sponsorship agreement that will span the next three seasons.

As part of the partnership, the global cybersecurity firm will provide comprehensive security solutions using its renowned Security Fabric platform to ensure a secure digital environment within the stadium. The platform's implementation aims to make Spotify Camp Nou a benchmark for technological innovation in sports and entertainment.

This sponsorship aligns with FC Barcelona's broader programme, which aims to incorporate cutting-edge technological systems into the upcoming state-of-the-art Espai Barça stadium complex. The partnership underscores the club’s dedication to transforming Espai Barça into an international hub for innovation and forward-thinking technologies.

One fundamental aspect of this collaboration involves deploying Fortinet's Security Fabric platform, including next-generation firewalls and artificial intelligence (AI)-powered security solutions, to safeguard the stadium’s Wi-Fi network, operational technology infrastructure, and data centres. Additionally, the Zero Trust Network Access and advanced endpoint security will protect all users and devices accessing applications within Spotify Camp Nou.

Espai Barça, a pioneering project aimed at modernising and expanding FC Barcelona’s facilities, will benefit significantly from Fortinet’s expertise in cybersecurity. The secure digital environment provided by Fortinet is expected to enhance the experience for all members and fans visiting the stadium.

Juli Guiu, FC Barcelona’s vice-president of the Marketing Area, remarked, "Espai Barça must be the catalyst for the club’s digital transformation, and cybersecurity is fundamental. Our alliance with Fortinet ensures that our facilities will have the most advanced protection and a secure digital environment for all those who visit the stadium. This collaboration highlights our commitment to innovation and technology and the club's commitment to offer the best experience."

John Maddison, Fortinet's chief marketing officer, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, "Building on Fortinet’s history of cybersecurity innovation spanning more than 20 years, we’re proud to support FC Barcelona’s ambitious vision to create an international innovation hub powered by industry-leading, cutting-edge technologies. Our shared goal of developing Spotify Camp Nou into one of the world’s leading stadiums is made possible by leveraging the Fortinet Security Fabric platform to secure its digital environment."

Fortinet, known for its robust and integrated cybersecurity solutions, brings vast experience from collaborations with public and private entities globally, including computer emergency response teams (CERTs), government agencies, and academic institutions. This wealth of expertise will be instrumental in fortifying the cybersecurity landscape of Espai Barça.

With this partnership, FC Barcelona aims to set a new global standard for secure and innovative sports complexes, enhancing visitors' overall digital and physical experience.
