Thu, 1st Aug 2024

Fastly has announced the appointment of Nueva as its first managed security partner in Australia. This partnership will enable Nueva to integrate Fastly's high-performance and secure solutions into its existing services, which are provided to both public and private sector customers. According to the announcement, this collaboration aims to enhance Nueva's capacity to protect against web application threats.

Nueva, based in Sydney, provides an array of cybersecurity services tailored to its clients' needs. These services include network security, vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and governance, risk, and compliance assessments. The partnership with Fastly will allow Nueva to broaden its security offerings, providing additional layers of protection for its customer base.

Alan Chan, Head of Channel and Partnership for Australia and New Zealand at Fastly, commented on the significance of the partnership. "The demand for highly skilled cybersecurity professionals is one of the biggest challenges in our industry. The new program offers managed security partners a set of incentives, training, and enablement to capitalise on the growing demand for the Fastly Platform delivered as a service," he stated.

Chan elaborated on the selection of Nueva, stating, "We chose Nueva due to their mature managed security services capabilities, expertise, and, more importantly, their customer-first attitude. We look forward to a prosperous partnership working with a partner able to inherently provide security expertise round the clock." He also highlighted the mutual benefits expected from this collaboration, asserting, "We strongly believe the managed security program will benefit our customers and the partner community by creating annuity revenue and delivering tangible business value."

As a result of the partnership, Nueva will enhance its service offerings with Fastly's suite of security solutions, including next-generation web application firewalls (WAF), distributed denial of service (DDoS) mitigation, and bot management. This integration is intended to give enterprises a competitive edge by ensuring that their content and digital experiences are both fast and secure. Ferdinand Tadiaman, CEO of Nueva, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration. "We're incredibly impressed with Fastly's security solutions, whose scalable web application security and controls can fundamentally reinforce how we deliver even more robust security to our end customers," Tadiaman said.

Tadiaman also emphasised the strategic fit of this partnership. "Fastly is a perfect fit and a great brand for us to work with in uplifting and simplifying the cybersecurity posture of price-conscious medium and large-sized enterprises in Australia. In addition, Fastly's positive reputation in the market will give us a head start in bringing technological advantage and improving customer web experiences through features such as access control authentication and SSL/TLS encryption," he added.

Overall, the partnership between Fastly and Nueva is poised to make significant advancements in the cybersecurity landscape for Australian enterprises, both public and private. By combining their strengths, the two companies aim to offer enhanced protection against the escalating threat of web application attacks.
