Expel & modePUSH team up to enhance cyber threat response

Thu, 22nd Aug 2024

Expel and modePUSH have announced a strategic partnership to enhance their Managed Detection and Response (MDR) and Incident Response (IR) capabilities. According to the companies, this collaboration will offer modePUSH clients comprehensive threat protection, combining the strengths of Expel’s MDR solutions with modePUSH’s forensic expertise.

Dan Webb, Vice President of Global Channel Sales and Alliances at Expel, commented on the collaboration’s significance. "This partnership enables the unmatched breadth and depth of Expel MDR coverage to follow modePUSH’s strategy-driven approach to cloud-native cyber forensics, helping modePUSH customers not only recover from data breaches but also build a comprehensive security strategy to prevent future incidents."

One key component of the partnership is Expel's enhanced cloud-native cyber forensics capability. This will be integrated with modePUSH’s existing services, which include breach response and security strategy planning. Expel already offers tailored detections, over 125 integrations, and expertise across both cloud and traditional environments. This combination aims to afford modePUSH clients increased peace of mind, knowing their security posture benefits from comprehensive threat detection and response capabilities.

Ben Harel, co-founder of modePUSH, echoed the added value brought by Expel’s involvement. "We work with companies experiencing their darkest hour. They need to know that they’ll be protected throughout our investigation while we root out the bad and help them strategise for a secure future," he said. "This partnership provides our customers with the added layer of Expel’s unmatched expertise, alongside our tailored forensic approach—guiding businesses through the recovery process and better safeguarding them for the long haul."

The integration ensures that modePUSH’s clients will benefit from Expel's advanced detection capabilities, which AI and automation drive. This technology promises improved visibility, threat detection, response, and proactive hunting across various environments, including on-premises servers and cloud-native applications. Expel's platform boasts a 20-minute mean-time-to-remediate on high and critical alerts, aiming to provide rapid resolution to evolving security issues.

The collaboration comes at a time when cloud-native data breaches are increasingly common and sophisticated, often exploiting vulnerabilities within cloud control panels. Given the growing threat landscape, organisations are prioritising the need for strategic action plans to eliminate threats and bolster their resilience, a point highlighted by Webb. "Together, Expel and modePUSH help organisations concentrate on future goals and prioritise implementing a strategic action plan to bolster resilience," he said.

modePUSH’s incident response services cater to a wide range of environments, including cloud-native, cloud workloads, and on-premises servers. Through the collaboration, both companies are prepared to handle various types of breaches, including ransomware attacks. This preparation allows them to offer comprehensive support during a breach and in the planning phases following an incident.

Both companies aim to mandate that security investments align closely with a company's overall strategic goals. Expel's MDR services are designed to supplement existing security programmes, maximising returns on security investments and incorporating robust protections against potential threats.
