ESET unveils new strategies to combat evolving cyber threats
ESET, a company focused on cybersecurity, has introduced a new range of solutions and enhancements to combat emerging cyber threats.
The updates include a new Ransomware Remediation feature incorporated into the ESET PROTECT platform. This feature is designed to automatically create backups that are used to restore encrypted data upon detection of malicious activity, providing a decisive measure against sophisticated ransomware attacks that attempt to corrupt backup files.
Michal Jankech, Vice President of Enterprise and SMB/MSP at ESET, commented, "ESET has a history of innovation in mitigating ransomware, both in the context of our endpoint security platform, our service offerings such as ESET MDR, and our part in the 'No More Ransom' initiative, which partners with law enforcement and IT Security companies to disrupt cybercriminal businesses with ransomware connections."
"ESET's Ransomware Remediation delivers comprehensive Ransomware defence, from encryption, theft and data holding. Easy to use, ESET's Ransomware Remediation offers businesses peace of mind as we help them in the fight against ransomware."
Further enhancements include adding anti-spoofing and homoglyph protection to the ESET Cloud Office Security module. This update aims to boost email security by identifying malicious domains or URLs and preventing attackers from masquerading as reliable sources. The ESET AI Advisor has also been made available to more customers within the EDR/XDR segments, providing an extensive security analyst toolkit that integrates seamlessly with daily operations.
Extending its cyber threat intelligence capabilities, ESET has notably expanded from eight to 15 threat feeds, thereby enriching its metadata-rich and curated data collection. This move aims to provide firms with timely and actionable intelligence against threats such as ransomware, crypto scams, phishing, and others.
Juraj Malcho, Chief Technology Officer at ESET, said, "ESET continues to expand its cyber threat intelligence offerings to accelerate incident response and reduce data breach impacts — delivering a holistic view of threat actors, attack vectors, indicators of compromise, and malware behaviour."
"Because cyber attacks know no borders, many organisations mix and match multiple threat intelligence services to gain global visibility and leverage best-in-class capabilities. ESET's renowned visibility across Europe and Asia gives organisations a distinct advantage in preempting sophisticated threat actors and safeguarding their critical assets."
ESET's Cyber Threat Intelligence services are adaptable and can be integrated into various security solutions. The ESET Connect API gateway supports this, enhancing interoperability and partnership with key industry players.
Jean-Ian Boutin, Director of ESET's Threat Research, stated, "ESET Cyber Threat Intelligence is built upon our greatest strength — ESET researchers working across 11 research and development centers worldwide. ESET does not buy data from others; we generate it ourselves. Our primary source is the vast ESET security solutions user base — over 110 million users in more than 190 countries."
"ESET telemetry samples undergo in-depth behavioural and structural analysis, yielding additional useful indicators that enrich our threat intelligence, thus providing a more comprehensive understanding of the threat landscape. By aligning with the MITRE ATT&CK framework, ESET threat intelligence users can operationalise their visibility and response."
By advancing these offerings, ESET aims to provide organisations of any size or budget with critical tools and information to better counter cyber threats and enhance their cybersecurity posture.
