Dicker Data NZ takes on SonicWall agency

FYI, this story is more than a year old

Dicker Data New Zealand has continued its charge into the volume market, signing a deal to distribute Dell SonicWall.

The new deal will see Dicker Data New Zealand handling the entire portfolio of SonicWall solutions, including the recently announced Dell SonicWall Secure Mobile Access 100 Series OS 8.5, which provides mobile and remote SMB workers with policy-enforced SSL VPN access to mission critical applications, data and resources.

Phil Presnall, Dicker Data New Zealand general manager of sales and marketing, says Dell SonicWall provides a competitive offering ‘across all levels of the market' with their products a ‘great fit' for Dicker Data's reseller base.

“The SonicWall solutions support customers across SMB through to enterprise, and provide a compelling offer in terms of value, performance and high availability,” Presnall says.

“SonicWall is a leader in the SME/SMB security appliances globally, with a strong footprint in the New Zealand market,” he says, adding that Dicker Data has a strong focus on the SMB market in New Zealand ‘so the partnership is ideal for us'.

Sandeep Joshi, Dell SonicWall ANZ general manager, says the deal will provide New Zealand resellers with better access to the vendor's products and solutions.

“By partnering with Dicker Data New Zealand on our entire portfolio of products and solutions, we gain access to a broader and diverse channel,” Joshi says.

In June Dell confirmed it was selling its software business, which includes SonicWall and Quest Software, to private equity firm Francisco Partner and Eliott Management Corporation for a sum reportedly around US$2 billion.

The sell-off comes as Dell merges with EMC and is part of a commitment from Dell to shed ‘non-core assets' as part of the US$67 billion EMC acquisition.

Last month the vendor announced a new Reward for Value partner program as it establishes itself as a channel player following its split from Dell.
