CrowdStrike & 1Password extend partnership to aid SMBs

Mon, 16th Sep 2024

CrowdStrike has announced the extension of its partnership with 1Password to provide enhanced cybersecurity solutions tailored for small and midsize businesses (SMBs).

This collaboration is designed to serve 150,000 customers, integrating 1Password Extended Access Management (XAM) with CrowdStrike Falcon Go, an AI-powered cybersecurity platform.

SMBs often face significant challenges in managing cybersecurity, including limited IT resources, budget constraints, and outdated defence mechanisms. The new bundled offering aims to simplify these complexities, giving businesses access to advanced security features that are typically out of their reach. Powered by CrowdStrike Falcon Go, this solution is engineered to offer industry-leading protection against modern cyber threats that traditional antivirus software may not detect.

"Transformative partnerships that unlock novel customer value challenge the status quo. That's exactly what CrowdStrike and 1Password are doing together across device security and passwords for 150,000 SMBs," said Daniel Bernard, chief business officer at CrowdStrike. "The synergy between CrowdStrike and 1Password is rooted in our shared commitment to protecting businesses of all sizes from evolving cyber threats."

The ease of deployment and integration between 1Password XAM and CrowdStrike Falcon Go is a key feature of the joint offering. Falcon Go is described as user-friendly, allowing people of all skill levels to set it up rapidly. This aspect is particularly valuable for SMBs that may not have dedicated IT teams or extensive cybersecurity expertise.

Jeff Shiner, CEO at 1Password, also expressed his enthusiasm for the expanded partnership. "We are thrilled to deepen our partnership with CrowdStrike, as our Extended Access Management solution combined with CrowdStrike Falcon Go addresses essential security needs all businesses face today," he stated. "This partnership not only strengthens our ability to protect against emerging threats, including BYOD and shadow IT, but also provides our customers with a comprehensive and user-friendly security solution."

The combination of 1Password and CrowdStrike technology is aimed at securing identities, applications, and devices within SMB environments. With an increasing number of businesses adopting bring-your-own-device (BYOD) policies and facing challenges related to shadow IT, the need for robust and comprehensive cybersecurity is more critical than ever.

The joint solution is designed to make high-level cybersecurity accessible and affordable for smaller enterprises, who may otherwise struggle to find cost-effective security measures that do not compromise on efficiency. By leveraging AI and cloud-native technologies, CrowdStrike Falcon Go can offer real-time protection, continuous monitoring, and automated threat response capabilities. These features are pivotal in defending against ransomware and data breaches—common threats that can have devastating impacts on SMBs.

The announcement underscores the growing trend of partnerships between established tech companies to provide integrated, scalable solutions aimed at specific market segments. By focusing on the needs of SMBs, CrowdStrike and 1Password are addressing a crucial gap in the cybersecurity landscape.

The expanded partnership reflects an ongoing commitment to bolster cybersecurity defences for businesses, irrespective of their size or budget. As cyber threats continue to evolve, such collaborations play a vital role in ensuring that all businesses, not just large enterprises, have access to the tools necessary to protect their digital assets.
