Armis acquires Silk Security for a total of $150M

Thu, 18th Apr 2024

Armis, an asset intelligence cybersecurity firm, has recently announced the acquisition of Silk Security, a platform specialised in sustainable cyber risk resolution. This finalises Armis' vision of creating a comprehensive cyber threat exposure management platform, with the deal settling at a total of $150M.

Silk Security's innovative technology will be integrated into Armis' platform immediately. This move will allow organisations to effectively bridge the existing gap between identifying security issues and implementing remediation that ensures enhanced safety against cyber threats, guarantees operational resilience and improves business processes.

Since its establishment, Armis has worked consistently to develop its AI-powered platform known as Armis Centrix, designed to mitigate all facets of cyber threat exposure. Starting with asset discovery and management to spotting vulnerabilities and prioritising remediation, Armis aims to offer a complete solution.

Armis' acquisition of Silk Security means it is set to supercharge the capabilities of the Armis Centrix AI-based Vulnerability Prioritization and Remediation solution. Consequently, this move will cater to security teams' need for a consolidated view of security findings, covering all sources of data from on-premise devices to cloud computing, coding and application security tools, fully automating the management of remediation processes.

Yevgeny Dibrov, CEO and Co-Founder of Armis, emphasised how organisations require solutions capable of addressing the complete lifecycle of cybersecurity threats in today's complex, fluid threat landscape. As such, Armis aims to offer a comprehensive, real-time solution that can quantify and continually reduce risk. They aim to achieve this by prioritising the most critical security findings to remediate at any given point, in all environments.

Founded in 2022 by three security professionals, the Silk Security team expressed their excitement, alongside Yoav Nathaniel, CEO and Co-Founder, to work with Armis and integrate their technology into the Armis solution stack. They stressed the worldwide struggle of organisations wrestling with increasing security risks, which this unique technological combination will address.

Nadir Izrael, CTO and Co-Founder of Armis, further highlighted the revolutionary aspect of integrating Silk Security's technology with Armis Centrix. This partnership would provide an efficient solution to bridge the gap between the detection of security issues and their rectification, ensuring rapid response times are maintained to prevent any potential data breaches.

The integration of Silk Security into Armis Centrix encompasses data from all locations, including on-site, coding, cloud and application security tools. This integration will provide an organised view of all security findings that equips security teams to manage the remediation process efficiently.

The acquisition brings several key capabilities to Armis Centrix, including full situational awareness, risk identification, prioritisation automation, consolidation and organisation of security findings, identification of high impact fixes and tracking of remediation owners. A centralised dashboard and complete risk resolution communication workflows will enable development and IT personnel to manage their findings without constantly involving the security team.
