Tenable continues ANZ ramp up with appointment of first country manager
Wed, 19th Apr 2017
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Tenable Network Security has appointed its first country manager for Australia and New Zealand as the vendor eyes up the local enterprise market.

Gordon Gakovic, who previously headed up Software AG's ANZ operations, has taken on the new role, which will see him responsible for expanding the company's presence in the enterprise security market by growing its commercial sales and support teams, and further supporting channel partner initiatives.

The appointment continues a concerted push for the company across Australia and New Zealand. Last October the security vendor signed Arrow Electronics as its ANZ distribution partner for the mid-market and enterprise channel, saying at the time that it was looking to double sales in ANZ.

The company also appointed its first ANZ channel manager in October.

Gary Jackson, Tenable APAC vice president, says the vendor has seen significant growth locally, with Gakovic's appointment positioning the company well to ‘accelerate our momentum and bring innovative security technology to customers throughout the region'.

“Gordon has a proven track record of developing and leading highly successful sales team, which is exactly the kind of leadership we need as we look to build upon our significant growth in Australia and New Zealand,” Jackson says.

“This, coupled with his experience serving the regional market, will be instrumental as Tenable continues to invest in and expand throughout Asia Pacific.

Gakovic has more than 25 years in the software industry, including sales director positions at IBM and Oracle.

“Organisations in Australia and New Zealand are using technology to give them a competitive edge in today's market, but the rapid adoption of these new digital trends exposes them to threats and vulnerabilities,” Gakovic says.

“In order to provide customers with the right security technology to address these risks, vendors and resellers must collaborate with one another to right-size the necessary products and solutions.
