Tatum Crisp appointed first female president of ISACA Auckland
ISACA, the global association for IT governance, risk management, and cybersecurity professionals, has appointed Tatum Crisp as the first female president of its Auckland Chapter. The chapter, established in 1984, sees this appointment as a meaningful step towards embracing diversity and excellence in leadership.
With more than 20 years of experience in technology and cybersecurity risk management, Tatum brings a considerable depth of knowledge and a forward-thinking mindset to her new role. She expressed her enthusiasm about her appointment, stating, "It is a privilege to lead such a dedicated group of professionals, and I am excited to help build the Auckland Chapter and support each member to become the best version of themselves through mentorship, knowledge-sharing, and skill-building."
Reflecting on her career, Tatum highlighted the advantages of being part of the ISACA community, "I have personally experienced the benefits of being an ISACA member throughout my career and the professional growth that comes from being connected to a diverse global community of IT and cybersecurity professionals. To lead a thriving chapter and facilitate events and opportunities where members can exchange insights, discuss trends, learn together and be informed about job prospects, industry developments and emerging technologies, is incredibly fulfilling."
Tatum also emphasised her commitment to ISACA's SheLeadsTech initiative, stating, "I am also proud to be associated with ISACA's SheLeadsTech initiative, which supports, mentors, and advocates for women in technology, fostering leadership and professional growth."
Jo Stewart-Rattray, the Oceania Ambassador for ISACA, praised Tatum's leadership qualities and her significant contributions to the association. "Tatum's leadership is outstanding, and her contributions to ISACA are invaluable," Stewart-Rattray remarked. She added, "Tatum's vision and dedication are set to inspire and empower the Auckland ISACA community, and beyond. Tatum will ensure members continue to enjoy a vibrant and supportive network with targeted learning opportunities in the fields of leadership, communication, and management."
Tatum is renowned for her focus on driving innovation and growth in the IT and cybersecurity sectors. She has a particular interest in understanding how behaviours and habits influence decision-making and risk-taking. Her experience will undoubtedly serve as an inspiration and guide for members navigating complex technological landscapes in their careers.
Since November 2021, Tatum has been serving as the Head of Technology Risk at Westpac NZ, where she leads a team of specialised risk professionals. Her previous roles include positions at ASB, Sovereign (now AIA), Barclays Bank, and PWC, providing her with extensive experience in both New Zealand and the United Kingdom financial services sectors.
