FYI, this story is more than a year old

Distribution Central has been appointed a distributor for Palo Alto Networks, the network security company, across Australia and New Zealand.

The technology distribution and channel service provider says the agreement expands DC's security offering with Palo Alto's platform based on its next-generation firewall.

The Palo Alto Networks product range will be distributed through Firewall Systems, a business unit of DC that specialises in security, availability and performance solutions.

“Security is at its next generation with increasingly sophisticated cyber attacks and mobile devices opening up entry points for hackers and data theft,” says Nick Verykios, managing director, Distribution Central.

“The Palo Alto Networks next-generation firewall is at the forefront of the solutions addressing the security needs of businesses today and its addition to the Firewall Systems portfolio expands the technology-leading solutions we deliver to our partners, supported by our channel services."

Firewall Systems will take the Palo Alto Networks product range to market with a full suite of reseller support services, including pre-sales technical support, post-sales field support, configuration, renewal and asset management, training and education programs and channel marketing programs.

“ANZ is a growing market for Palo Alto Networks and we are committed to making investments internally and externally to grow this region," says Armando Dacal, regional director, Palo Alto ANZ.

"Distribution Central is a value added distributor with a great track record in ANZ.

"We are expanding value added partners in ANZ to address the full potential of the market."

The agreement follows DC's recent exclusive deal with Quantum, effective July 1 across New Zealand.
