Milestone Systems unveils XProtect 2025 R1 with new features
Milestone Systems has announced the release of XProtect 2025 R1, featuring enhanced cloud integration and advanced vehicle analytics.
The latest release sees extended support for the Arcules Plugin with XProtect Professional+, Expert, and Corporate editions. This expansion facilitates the seamless flow of video and alarm data from Arcules' Video Surveillance as a Service (VSaaS/cloud solution) to a wider range of XProtect deployments. The integration, which was previously exclusive to XProtect Corporate users, is now available as a standalone device, eliminating the need for interconnect licensing. This move broadens market accessibility and integration opportunities for various organisations.
While detailing the enhancements in vehicle analytics, Milestone Systems highlighted the comprehensive updates to the XProtect License Plate Recognition (LPR) extension. These enhancements offer more precise vehicle analytics, including vehicle classification, colour recognition, make/model detection, and vehicle angle detection. These functions aid in speeding up vehicle identification processes for security purposes, allowing for rapid filtering of video data based on specific characteristics, thereby improving investigation response times.
The vehicle analytics enhancements also extend their utility beyond security applications. They can be utilised for urban planning and traffic management by providing data-driven insights for traffic flow optimisation, strategic congestion management, and environmental impact assessments based on traffic patterns. The analytics can further assist in infrastructure development planning by analysing various vehicle types and their movement patterns.
Milestone Systems continues its commitment to providing advanced tools for security operations and broader operational insights with the XProtect 2025 R1 release. The company supports over 14,700 security devices from more than 700 manufacturers, working with technology partners that offer network video cameras, NVRs, cloud technologies, access control, alarm and detection systems, video analytics, GPS technology, laser scanners, and emergency call boxes.
