Lancom gains AoG status for New Zealand government IT
Lancom Technology has secured accreditation and full publication on New Zealand's All-of-Government Marketplace for project and managed services.
The listing places Lancom among pre-approved suppliers that public sector agencies can use through the AoG procurement framework. The company said the status reflects its suitability for government work and its security and delivery credentials.
Government spend
New Zealand's public sector uses the AoG Marketplace to purchase a range of services from suppliers that have passed an assessment process. The model standardises terms and provides agencies with a common route for sourcing services.
Minister for Digitizing Government and the Public Service Judith Collins has referenced a projected $13 billion spend over five years from September 2025, according to Lancom.
Lancom Chief Executive Officer Priscila Bernardes said the company had aligned its offering more closely with government expectations as it sought the AoG panel listing.
"As we increase our focus on addressing government requirements from within our solution stack, it has become necessary to fulfil the requirements for a listing on the AoG panel," said Priscila Bernardes, Chief Executive Officer, Lancom Technology.
Bernardes said the company already works in the sector and described the AoG listing as a next step in its government push.
"Expanding Lancom Technology's capability into New Zealand's government departments is a natural progression for our business, particularly with cloud hyperscalers landing in Aotearoa," said Bernardes.
The company pointed to new local cloud infrastructure. It cited the introduction of AWS' Auckland Region and the Microsoft New Zealand North data centre. Lancom said these facilities address data sovereignty concerns. It also said they improve access to services.
Procurement route
The AoG procurement framework covers goods and services across central and local government organisations and other public entities. It aggregates demand across a large number of agencies and standardises procurement processes.
The AoG model aims to reduce the administrative burden on agencies that would otherwise run separate procurement exercises and contract negotiations. It also sets up a catalogue of supplier categories that include recruitment, IT services, consultancy, and quality assurance.
Lancom said its publication on the Marketplace means government organisations can contract with it directly through the AoG channel.
Security credentials
Bernardes highlighted security endorsements and certifications that Lancom said it holds. These include a Tier 2 security endorsement and ISO27001 certification for information security management systems.
"Our Tier 2 security endorsement further reinforces Lancom's trusted position as a partner capable of protecting sensitive government systems and data," said Bernardes.
Lancom also cited completion of a Microsoft Security Partner Designation.
"Ahead of our publication to the AoG panel, we also completed Microsoft Security Partner Designation, further demonstrating our commitment to the highest standards of data protection," said Bernardes.
Service scope
Lancom said it already operates in regulated sectors including financial services, healthcare, and policing. It also described work supporting businesses at global scale.
The company listed service areas that it expects to be relevant to public sector agencies. These include cloud transition projects, infrastructure support, application management, server and storage administration, and user device support.
Lancom said the AoG listing confirms it meets standards required to support government entities across Aotearoa.
"Just as we do for commercial organizations, our teams are ready to support public sector innovation by delivering the support and services necessary for efficient government," said Bernardes.
Lancom was founded in 1988. It operates across New Zealand, Australia, and the United States. The company said it provides managed services, cloud infrastructure services for AWS and Azure, and software development. It said it holds AWS partner status and Microsoft solutions partner designations. Lancom said it expects to pursue additional engagements with public sector agencies via the AoG Marketplace.
