Today

Ingram Micro has strengthened its Australian leadership team with the appointments of Kaaren Lewis as Director, Advanced Solutions, Cybersecurity, Hybrid Business Applications and Mo Kandeel as Director, End Point Devices and Specialty.

Both Lewis and Kandeel have commenced their new roles earlier this month and bring more than 25 years' experience each within the Australian and New Zealand information and communications technology sector.

Executive Managing Director Hope McGarry, who leads Ingram Micro Australia, highlighted that both appointments are integral to the company's refreshed senior management structure and will enhance its ability to support customer needs across a broad technology solutions portfolio. This includes areas such as artificial intelligence, cloud and cybersecurity, as well as specialty, endpoint, and consumer devices.

"Kaaren and Mo are standout leaders in the ICT industry, bringing both proven experience and fresh thinking to Ingram Micro at a time of exciting transformation," said Hope McGarry, Executive Managing Director, Australia. "Their additions strengthen our leadership team and reinforce our commitment to driving greater value for our partners through collaboration, innovation and a bold vision for the future of distribution."

McGarry also emphasised the complementary nature of the appointments, stating, "Kaaren and Mo's appointments represent a significant step in shaping a future-ready leadership structure at Ingram Micro. Their roles are highly complementary—Kaaren's deep expertise in cybersecurity, cloud and advanced solutions aligns perfectly with Mo's strength in endpoint and specialty technology, creating a connected leadership model that mirrors the way our customers buy, deploy and scale technology today. Together, they strengthen our ability to deliver integrated, outcome-driven solutions across the entire technology stack—accelerating innovation, driving growth, and ensuring we remain the distributor of choice in an increasingly complex and services-led market."

Kaaren Lewis, who steps into her new position overseeing advanced solutions, cybersecurity, hybrid business applications, and cloud, said she is looking forward to engaging with partners and vendors to achieve strategic objectives.

"I'm excited to be returning to the IT industry at such a pivotal time—where cloud, cybersecurity, AI, and services-led transformation are reshaping business," says Lewis. "Ingram Micro plays a critical role in this evolving ecosystem, offering one of the broadest and most connected solution portfolios in the market. I'm looking forward to working closely with our vendor and partner communities to deliver outcomes that matter—understanding their priorities, accelerating their growth, and building long-term, strategic relationships."

Lewis has established her reputation across sales, channel and go-to-market leadership roles with global technology vendors, helping to drive cloud growth and leading significant business transformations. At Ingram Micro, her focus will be on enabling growth and delivering results by leveraging relationships and execution capabilities across advanced solutions.

Kandeel assumes responsibility for the company's offerings in endpoint devices and specialty areas, which includes oversight of relationships with vendors such as HPI, Lenovo, Eaton, Meta and management of data capture, point of sale, and professional audiovisual teams. He also brings more than two decades of senior leadership experience from the distribution and vendor side of the technology industry within the ANZ region.

"I am thrilled to join Ingram Micro at such a pivotal time of transformation – both for the company and the broader IT industry," comments Kandeel. "Ingram Micro stands out as one of the IT channel's leading global distributors, with a strong local touch and presence. I look forward to collaborating closely with our partner ecosystem and vendor community to drive strategic initiatives that deliver meaningful value and growth."

Kandeel's background includes a track record in driving business transformation and commercial growth through deep industry insight and an established network in the technology channel. His role at Ingram Micro will focus on supporting the company's vendor relationships and expanding its commercial footprint in a rapidly changing technology environment.

With these latest appointments, Ingram Micro aims to bolster its service capabilities and provide greater value to customers across the technology sector in Australia.
