Genetec partners with Sektor to expand security solutions in NZ

Today

Genetec has appointed Sektor as its official distribution partner in New Zealand, targeting growth in physical security solutions for both public and private sector enterprises.

The collaboration will see Sektor distributing Genetec's range of physical security products to large and mid-size organisations throughout New Zealand. The partnership seeks to enhance accessibility and support for customers seeking security technology such as video management, access control, and analytics.

Sektor has experience supplying technology solutions for security installers and integrators in the region.

As part of the agreement, Sektor will manage Genetec hardware inventory, set pricing in local currency, and oversee supply chain and logistics for New Zealand. Sektor will also be responsible for managing the local Return Merchandise Authorisation (RMA) process for devices supplied from Genetec's international portfolio.

The agreement includes the opening of a Genetec Technology Centre in Penrose, Auckland. The centre will provide hands-on, interactive access to Genetec technologies, including solutions for video management, access control, license plate recognition, communications management, and secure cloud services. This facility will be available to both partners and customers, aiming to increase practical engagement with Genetec's offerings.

Hayden Bowtell, General Manager at Sektor, stated, "We are very pleased and excited to be partnering with Genetec to further enhance the security of New Zealand communities and workplaces. To support this partnership, we're expanding our commercial and technical teams to help drive adoption and integration of advanced physical security solutions nationwide."

With the addition of Genetec, Sektor will focus on providing locally available stock, giving customers quicker access to security technology. The distributor will also offer guidance and customer support, leveraging its expertise across video surveillance, access control systems, and supporting technologies.

George Moawad, Country Manager for Oceania, Genetec, commented,

"Genetec and Sektor share a strong focus on people and customer success, making this collaboration a natural fit. Together, we're committed to delivering exceptional outcomes, with New Zealand customers now able to benefit from Sektor's extensive local capabilities and resources."

The opening of the Genetec Technology Centre in Auckland is set to further strengthen support for the local security market. Here, system integrators, consultants, and end-users will be able to evaluate real-world applications for Genetec solutions.

The centre is positioned to help partners and clients better understand how Genetec's security management products can address both operational requirements and local regulations.

Sektor's expanded commercial and technical teams will focus on facilitating product integration and customer adoption. This includes assisting with deployment of systems to meet the specific security challenges faced by organisations, whether in transport, government, corporate, or community environments.

Genetec's portfolio spans video management, access control, license plate recognition, and secure cloud-based security services. The solutions are built on open architectures intended for interoperability with third-party technologies, and are designed with cybersecurity in mind.

Both companies intend for the new partnership to expand the reach of enterprise-grade security technologies across New Zealand, aligning resources and support structures more closely with local needs.
