Gartner labels Fortinet a ‘leader’ in enterprise network firewalls
Wed, 19th Jul 2017
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Fortinet has been recognised as a ‘leader' in the 2017 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Networks Firewalls.

The report looked into the cybersecurity company's solutions, its ‘completeness of vision' and ‘ability to execute' as factors for this placement.

Founder, chairman of the board and CEO at Fortinet, Ken Xie says the company is ecstatic with the review from Gartner – as are the company's more than 310,000 customers.

“Cybersecurity is a very dynamic space. Customer requirements keep evolving, the attack surface is growing as mobile devices, cloud computing and IoT is used in corporate networks, and the threat landscape is getting more sophisticated and automated,” says Xie.

Xie says independent evaluation and market analysis conducted by firms like Gartner are critical to help businesses determine the best vendors to protect their critical data and assets against an increasingly hostile threat landscape.

“Just over a year ago, we launched our Fortinet Security Fabric technology vision to deliver an architectural approach to security that is specifically designed to see and respond to threats in real time, automatically adapt to distributed networks and provide the performance needed to keep up with growing data and user demands,” says Xie.

“We believe that Gartner's recognition of Fortinet as a leader in its Enterprise Firewall Magic Quadrant is a testament to the successful execution and market adoption of our Security Fabric vision.

Partners of Fortinet certainly agree with Xie's sentiments.

Vice president of Product Management at CDK Global, Chris Cushman says as a partner of Fortinet, these valuations provide confidence in the road ahead.

“As we evaluate technologies to build into our leading Dealer Management Systems, we look for partners with a strong innovation vision and the ability to execute. The dealerships we serve are defending against cyber-attacks with limited IT resources,” says Cushman.

“Our assessment of technology vendors with which to expand our security offerings reveals that Fortinet has been recognised across many Gartner Magic Quadrant reports – a key indicator that gives us confidence that they are the right partner to have with us on this journey.

Vice president of security solutions at ePlus, Lee Waskevich says working with Foritnet enables them to deliver advanced, comprehensive security solutions to their clients.

“Fortinet is known for providing industry-leading security hardware and software on which partners have the tools and support to add value for their clients. Their innovative portfolio helps to address our clients' key cyber security concerns,” says Waskevich.

“Fortinet's position as a leader in Gartner's Magic Quadrant reinforces our partnership with Fortinet and helps assure our clients that they are leveraging the best security solutions to defend their businesses.
