Bitsight acquires Cybersixgill for USD $115 million

Today

Bitsight has announced the acquisition of threat intelligence provider Cybersixgill for USD $115 million.

This acquisition represents a key development in Bitsight's effort to address the increasing challenges of cyber risk within the extended supply chain.

Rising cyber-attacks and expanding threat surfaces necessitate a broader approach to cybersecurity that goes beyond internal organisational systems. The integration of Cybersixgill's real-time intelligence capabilities with Bitsight's asset mapping seeks to offer security leaders enhanced visibility into their digital environments and facilitate swift identification of emerging threats across both primary and secondary contexts.

"Together, we're unlocking a new level of cyber risk management," noted Steve Harvey, CEO of Bitsight. The collaboration aims to provide unique insights into an organisation's external attack surfaces, supply chains, and associated threats. Such insights are anticipated to aid security leaders in preemptively identifying and mitigating risks in their networks and beyond.

With an increase in cyber threats, the necessity for actionable threat intelligence data becomes crucial. Integrating Bitsight's asset mapping with Cybersixgill's real-time threat insights is expected to enable security leaders to pinpoint emerging risks promptly, all within a unified framework.

Harvey elaborated, "The acquisition of Cybersixgill is a major step forward in our product vision, enabling us to deliver unparalleled insight into risk and threat exposure across an organization's extended attack surface. With the integration of Cybersixgill's team and technology, we can deliver even deeper insights to Bitsight customers about the targeted threats unique to their infrastructure."

Cybersixgill specialises in the covert extraction of data from a diverse range of sources, including the dark and deep web, enabling it to offer comprehensive analyses and support. The company's recently launched Cybersixgill IQ employs generative AI to convert extensive real-time data into understandable insights and 24/7 support.

The acquisition is anticipated to enrich Bitsight's offerings in External Attack Surface Management and Continuous Third Party Monitoring by introducing new threat intelligence capabilities.

Bitsight plans to leverage Cybersixgill's AI models to enhance its extensive data on cybersecurity exposures, impacting millions of companies worldwide.

Sharon Wagner, CEO of Cybersixgill, commented, "We've long admired Bitsight's vision and leadership in helping organisations manage cyber exposure and understand risks in their supply chain. By joining forces with Bitsight, we'll be able to enhance and expand the reach of our threat intelligence solutions and give our customers access to an even more comprehensive set of cyber risk analytics, including Bitsight's rich vendor risk insights."

Cybersixgill's clientele spans global enterprises, financial institutions, governmental bodies, and law enforcement. The company is based in Israel and currently employs more than 80 staff globally.

As part of the acquisition, Bitsight aims to maintain Cybersixgill's operational presence in Israel.
