Bitdefender offers $1m warranty with MDR services

Bitdefender has announced a cybersecurity breach warranty program offering up to USD $1 million in compensation for businesses adopting its managed detection and response (MDR) services.

The program, delivered in partnership with cyber insurer Cysurance, is designed to support businesses in Australia and New Zealand, among other regions, following security incidents that impact operations.

Kirsten Bay, Co-founder and CEO of Cysurance, commented on the partnership, "As the threat landscape grows increasingly complex, businesses should have confidence in the solutions that protect vital assets as well as access to financial resources that fund recovery efforts should a security incident occur. The cybersecurity warranty arrives amidst a rapidly expanding threat landscape that includes risks such as business email compromise, credential theft, malware, phishing, and platform vulnerabilities.

A recent survey highlighted that more than half of over 1,200 IT and security professionals from companies with 1,000 or more employees have experienced data breaches or leaks within the past year.

Bitdefender has worked closely with Cysurance to certify its MDR offerings, ensuring that appropriate controls are in place for both new and existing customers.

This warranty program addresses compliance and regulatory shortfalls, legal liability, and financial losses resulting from cyber incidents. The Cysurance Certification Warranty provides immediate financial protection without additional costs for new or existing customers of MDR or MDR PLUS services.

The Bitdefender MDR solution encompasses continuous threat monitoring, detection and response, threat hunting, and analyst-led recommendations, all managed from the Bitdefender GravityZone Platform. This unified security and risk analytics platform offers advanced endpoint protection, including endpoint detection and response (EDR), extended detection and response (XDR), and cloud security through GravityZoneCSPM+.
